Balestra del girifalco

The Balestro Girifalco, takes place twice a year: the fourth Sunday of May and the second Sunday in August. They take part in the race 24 crossbowmen, 8 for each of Terzieri where is divided Massa Marittima. The race is preceded by a parade made up of over 150 people wearing faithful reproductions of medieval costumes and parade through the streets of Massa Marittima until Piazza del Duomo where the race will be disputed.
